Sunday night’s dinner was very… phallic…
Instead of our usual Sunday Steak Night, we decided to do bratwursts instead–mostly because we both had steak on Friday night and Michael had steak for breakfast. I was good with that; especially since Michael and Jeremy cooked dinner. 🙂
Michael boiled the brats before grilling them and Jeremy did his special trick for corn on the cob.
This time, Jeremy used butter and added chili pepper. It was a great addition!
Dinner turned out really good and not only that–it was COOKED FROM HOME! It was so nice to prepare our own food and eat normal portions.
I am grateful for the opportunity to go out to dinner with Michael’s family. I am also grateful for enjoying food prepared BY Michael. 🙂 I skipped having a beer with dinner. It’s almost habit now. A habit I *really* don’t need! I drank water instead and decided my splurge would be dessert.
If you remember, I bought fudge from the beach this weekend.
I had half a glass of nonfat milk with a small piece of fudge (Chocolate Peanut Butter).
I also bought another treat for myself: Bondi Band! I’ve been wanting one for awhile now and I finally broke down and ordered one. I can’t wait to get it! I’ve been needing a new headband for running and I think I got a cute one.
QUESTION: Do you have a Bondi Band? Which one did you get?
For breakfast Monday morning, Michael created a half bagel sandwich. Half a bagel (130 calories) with a little light cream cheese, sliced turkey sausage and 1.5 scrambled eggs. It’s a little higher in calories than what I normally have for breakfast but it was tasty.
It’s also a good breakfast for days that I will run at lunch.

Yard work was on the menu last night. No one told me living in a house was so much work! (Just kidding) Seriously, if it’s not one thing (kitchen remodel) it’s another. I swear those blackberry bushes will be the death of me! I keep telling Michael we need to buy or rent a goat to just eat everything back there. 🙂
Dinner last night was a repeat of Monday, minus the walk to the store. We eat a lot of “repeat” food. Dinner was bratwursts again. The way Michael prepares them is to boil them in water or beer first then grill them on the grill outside.
It was the spicy bratwursts this time and they are tasty! Zucchini is sliced, oiled and seasoned with Steak Seasoning. It’s a peppery-salty seasoning.
We sat on the back deck again and enjoyed dinner and a brew.
QUESTION: How do you get creative with your meals? Is there a website you use to find recipe ideas?
Yesterday kind of sucked for a number of reasons. Work stresses and petty BS kind of ruined my afternoon and evening. As much as I tried to let it not bother me, it did. So no pictures of me during yesterday’s bike ride. Red eyes and my vanity prevented that! Michael and I went for a fantastic bike ride when I got home! It felt great. Because of the time change and the sudden nice weather, it was sunny and somewhat warm until almost 7:00! I can’t wait for summer.
We did Michael’s commute and it took about 53 minutes there and back to the house. There were a few hills too! A few times my gears locked up (which was scary). I realized a few things:
1. I need to take a bike maintenance class ASAP before Reach the Beach. Just in case.
2. I also realized I am still scared to go really fast down hills. Hopefully I beat that fear soon!!! Michael whizzed by me like it was nothing!
3. I really need cycling sun glasses.
4. I hate my bike pedals. They are such a struggle! I fumble and can’t get my foot in. Michael ordered me some clip-in cycling pedals so hopefully I get those soon so I can practice clipping in.
My average heart rate was 136 (just below my target to be honest) and my max was 181. I felt really great about the 409 calories too!
Michael made bratwursts for dinner (I didn’t end up eating it all because I got full). I put some spicy mustard on it and a little cheese. We also had some homemade guacamole and tortilla chips.
I felt way too full after eating all of that. I think I’m okay for my calories. Since I was really upset, I felt some of the old “pulls” to eat bad food. Emotional eating at it’s finest! But I didn’t give in to them 100% (just a little bit!).
