Ouch My Leg

After the bike ride yesterday we cleaned up and went out to dinner. We ended up at a Mexican restaurant in Sellwood called the Iron Horse. It’s an okay place. Sometimes the food there can be really good, sometimes it’s not so great. I still have about 1900 calories left for my day so I wasn’t too concerned about what I was ordering! We both got a Widmer Hefewizen beer.

Beers

It tasted great! For dinner, I ordered the Butternut Squash Enchilada. I’ve been craving that dish for awhile now. The best place to order it in Portland is at the Sapphire on SE Hawthorne. The dish I had last night didn’t come close to the one at the Sapphire. 😦 It had carrots and apples in the enchilada as well, which would be tasty but…. Unfortunately, it was overloaded with cheese and I barely tasted any butternut squash! Disappointing.

Plate Before

I ate about half of it and then stopped. I was full.

Plate After

The Iron Horse has really good fajitas–that’s usually what we order there. Oh well.

I slept like the dead last night and woke up feeling okay. My neck and shoulders aren’t sore–that’s usually where I am sore after biking. My butt is DEFINITELY sore. But the strange sore spot today is my triceps! Weird!

For breakfast I had a bagel thin with light cream cheese, a banana and a Vitamin C drink.

Breakfast

My bruise hasn’t formed yet. My leg is SORE! And there’s a swollen red spot. I know tomorrow it’s going to be ugly! Not sure what today has in store for me yet. I’m heading to the pool soon! Enjoy your Sunday!

QUESTION: What goals are you working towards for this summer?

  1. You have much more control than I do, when it comes to mexican food. I do agree, I really can’t stand too much cheese on my plate anymore, since I don’t eat much of it. It can take over a whole dish – well, unless it is nachos, then it should have tons of cheese. 🙂
    I’m making myself hungry……
I hope you don’t bruise up too badly, the bike crash sounded scary.

  2. I wonder if your hunger will hit hard today. Mine always did the day or two after. Way to stop eating when you were full. That is my biggest challenge. I seem to eat to the point of sickness. Especially if I know it is a “cheat day”.

  3. Great job on the ride yesterday, and sorry to hear about the crash! Hope you don’t feel any after effects of that this week.

We are shooting for a 100-mile bike ride this summer. I am also debating on doing another triathlon, but all depends on how fast I get back into running.
